The Marcos Question

When he was alive Ferdinand Marcos was feared and despised. Now that he is dead, Marcos become a pawn in the sickening and disgusting game of necro-politics.

A specter is haunting the Philippines - the specter of former president Marcos.  The yellow zombies that are now in power, the economic oligarchs and the opportunist leftists have entered an unholy alliance but not to exorcise Marcos' ghost.  They intend to ruthlessly use Marcos, or should I say what remains of him, to protect their interests and to get whatever their bidding is.

Isn't it suspicious that issue of whether the late president should be buried at Libingan ng mga Bayani suddenly hits the headlines?  The timing is perfect.  Noynoy Aquino is hell-bent in postponing the elections in Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao.  Noynoy couldn't contain the itch to get rid of the electoral process and exercise his supposed legitimate power to appoint.  Noynoy's appointees will hold office for more or less 2 years until 2013.

Blunder! Blunder! Blunder!

Greek philosopher Aristotle once said that we are what we repeatedly do.  Now we are getting more acquainted to the sloppy way that the present administration does everything.

First, it was the executive order that unnecessarily sowed fear and confusion among career officers.

The Lessons Begin

It's been more than a year since the last presidential election.  Amid both optimism for fresh start and doubts on how the votes were counted, Noynoy Aquino was declared winner and sworn into office as successor to Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Noynoy's last name has that political pedigree that makes it easier for one to win a Philippine election.  Prior to being elected into the presidencyNoynoy held legislative positions for 12 years.  But because of his lacklusteror should I say, boring stint as legislatorNoynoy will always be no more than just the son of former president Cory Aquino.
